Acker divulges more on unamed theatrical film

Shane Acker who is to direct the new Thomas the Tank Engine theatrical film has detailed more on it in a new interview.

UCLA Magazine spoke to the movie's chief helmer, who studied at the place, about what the story will be about and how it came to it's fruition.

It probably isn't something you imagine me being immediately attracted to, this material. It centers on this father-son reunification story.
I think it's really fun. A world of just trains, a train-centric world — what would that world be like? A world of trains without people.

The magazine notes more on the film that will reportedly be, slated to hit theaters in 2013, have a compelling script and will have a darker, more grown-up feel than the Thomas programs preschoolers watch.

They have also revealed that Acker is currently in the midst of an unbelievably packed schedule to develop the silver screen product.

The yet to be named Thomas theatrical movie is slated to be released in cinemas sometime in 2013 to 2014.

  3. I certainly hope that this isn't another Thomas and the Magic Railroad. If HiT does that, they might as well release the TATMR Director's Cut! I mean yeah, they're probably gonna go and use the RWS models and prototypes, but it won't be worth it if we don't have the Fat Controller, station masters, signal men, guards, etc. But we'll just have to wait until the trailer debuts which will probably be this year, if the film does use it's 2013 release, considering it's only another year away. But hopefully this film will turn out to be better than what we are hearing as far as the non-people things go.
